I'm Benjamin Skroch, and I build furniture in my Madison workshop, focusing on durability, fine joinery, and clean design. Every piece is made to order and finished by hand, including the tables below, each built to fit your space and how you'll use it.

Dining Tables

Solid hardwood dining tables designed for daily use and long-term durability. Sizes, edge profiles, and river designs can be customized to fit your room and style.

Coffee Tables

Coffee tables built from the same materials and techniques as the larger pieces, scaled for living spaces. Available with or without river epoxy designs.

Benches

Matching or standalone benches built to complement dining tables or entry spaces. Dimensions and finishes can be tailored to your needs.

Standard Sizes

A few common starting points — every piece can also be built to custom dimensions:

Accent — 32" x 20". A smaller coffee table to go with a loveseat or recliner.
Coffee — 44" x 24". This length (40"–44") works well in front of a standard 3-seat sofa.
Breakfast — 48" x 30". The most versatile size — a dining table for 2–4 adults, a good size for a desk or craft table, or on a shorter base, an especially large coffee table.
Dining — 72" x 42". A classic full-size table that easily seats 6 adults.

Customization

Make it yours: choose river color, finish, wood species, borders, overlays, and base/legs.

You can customize:

Wood species — solid hardwood slabs, including locally sourced species when available. Natural grain, knots, and live edges are preserved whenever possible.
River epoxy color — choose from a palette or provide a sample. I prefer a channel with 1/4"–1/2"+ of clear epoxy over the color, which shows more of the live edge and gives the piece a greater sense of depth. Most rivers use a "liquid cloud" effect, but a more traditional teardrop swirl pattern is available too.
Border — an optional contrasting wood border or inlay around the edge of the piece.

Cutout overlay — add a decorative inlay or metal overlay.
Size, edge profile & base/legs — tailored to your space.

Finish Options

Signature Epoxy Finish — My preferred finish, especially for softwood projects. A middle option between epoxy and oil for appearance, with higher overall durability than either: a subtle texture gives lower reflection/glare than standard epoxy coating, but with enhanced durability. Durable, low maintenance, and easy to clean. Works on hardwood or softwood.

Traditional Table-top Epoxy Finish — Practical and attractive, with an easy-clean, mirror-smooth surface that shows fine detail in the wood grain and river work. Works with both hardwood and softwood.

Hardwax Oil Finish — The most traditional wood-furniture look and feel — natural grain, easy to repair, easy clean up with soap and water (not compatible with counter-top or window-type surface cleaners). Hardwood projects only, and works best paired with epoxy features that have clean edges.

Overall: epoxy finishes are the most durable, lowest maintenance, and work on hard or soft woods; hardwax oil looks and feels the most "natural," and is best for hardwood pieces with one or two epoxy river features.

Typical lead time is about one month from deposit to delivery. Delivery available within roughly a day's drive of Madison.
